If you’ve read the books you know that as the series goes on it just gets more and more horrid. The reason there’s so much sexualization is because it slowly scrutinizes it. People are angry at Dan and David for this incident in episode 6, but this is the kind of message that George Martin is trying to create in Game of Thrones it’s not a heroic medieval story like Lord of the Rings.
People have grey morals and are horrible, there’s no one to be trusted. The truth is this world is horrific, sadistic and sick, Theon’s Torture, The amount of rape, the Ros Scene and the upcoming Red Wedding are absolutely horrific and it’s something nobody wants to see, and that’s what Game of Thrones does it shows us the truth we don’t want to see just how horrifying this world is and the people who run it, the working class like Ros are shown to suffer in a world run by cruel higher authorities, and they don’t get any say it.
It is something horrible that we don’t want to see it we know that, but that’s what Game of Thrones does confronts us the horrible truths we don’t want to see. I’m not condoning anything horrible within the show (Sexual Assault, Violence, Murder, Abuse) and neither is the show but it presents these truths that we tend to hide away, so don’t get angry at the show writers, get angry at the people in the world who in actual fact bring such suffering into the world.
